When you talk about food, use these simple phrases. They help you say what you like and what you eat every day.

Asking about favourites:

What is your favourite food? — ما هو طعامك المفضل؟
What do you like for breakfast? — ماذا تحب للفطور؟
Do you like chicken? — هل تحب الدجاج؟

Answering about favourites:

My favourite food is chicken. — طعامي المفضل هو الدجاج.
I like rice for lunch. — أحب الأرز للغداء.
Yes, I do. / No, I don't. — نعم. / لا.

Saying it is good:

It is delicious! — إنه لذيذ!
I love salad. — أحب السلطة.

Start with the question What is your favourite food? Then give a short answer with the name of a food. Use the word delicious when the food is very good. These phrases help you have a simple conversation about meals. Listen to the dialogue, then practise the same sentences out loud.

الكلمات والعبارات الأساسية:

Favourite = المفضل. بنستخدمها لما عايزين نقول أكتر حاجة بنحبها.
Delicious = لذيذ. بنقولها لما الأكل طعمه حلو أوي.
Lunch = الغدا، و Dinner = العشا.
Breakfast = الفطار.

القواعد المهمة:

لما تسأل حد عن الأكل المفضل، استخدم السؤال ده: What is your favourite food? (إيه أكتر أكل بتحبه؟)

للإجابة عندك طريقتين:

My favourite food is chicken (الطعم المفضل بتاعي هو الفراخ). هنا بنستخدم is لأن الـ favourite واحد.
I like rice for lunch (أنا بحب الأرز للغدا). هنا بنستخدم I like + اسم الأكل + الوقت.

لما حد يسألك Do you like...؟ (هل بتحب...؟) جاوب بإجابة قصيرة:

Yes, I do = أيوه.
No, I don't = لأ.

مثال على محادثة كاملة:

Emma: Hi! What is your favourite food?
Tom: My favourite food is chicken. What about you?
Emma: I like salad. It is delicious. Do you like rice?
Tom: Yes, I do. I eat rice with chicken for dinner.

نصايح للممارسة:

انطق كلمة favourite صح: الـ ou بتتنطق زي أ (في-فوريت).
جرب تبدّل أسماء الأكل حسب اللي بتحبه: fish، pasta، pizza، mango.
خلي صوتك واثق والإيقاع طبيعي، مش محفوظ.
استخدم delicious لما تحب تمدح الأكل.

In English, we have three main meals during the day. Breakfast is the meal in the morning, around 7 or 8 o'clock. Lunch is the meal in the middle of the day, around 12 o'clock. Dinner is the meal in the evening, around 6 or 7 o'clock.

Many people have a favourite food. This is the food they like most. You can say: My favourite food is chicken. or Chicken is my favourite food. The word favourite comes before a noun. We can also say favourite meal, favourite fruit, or favourite drink.

Here are some common foods you can talk about:

الوجبات المفضلة: كلمات لازم تعرفها

في الإنجليزي عندنا تلات وجبات أساسية بنتكلم عنهم كل يوم لما نتكلم عن الأكل.

الوجبات التلاتة

Breakfast معناها الفطور، ودي الوجبة اللي بتاكلها الصبح، حوالين الساعة 7 أو 8. مثال: I eat eggs for breakfast.
Lunch معناها الغدا، وبتاكلها نص النهار حوالين الساعة 12. مثال: We have lunch at 12:00.
Dinner معناها العشا، ودي وجبة بالليل حوالين الساعة 6 أو 7. مثال: Dinner is at 7:00.

كلمة Favourite (المفضل)

دي من الكلمات اللي لازم تحطها في دماغك. Favourite معناها "مفضل"، ودايماً بتتحط قبل الاسم مباشرة. يعني مش بتقول "food favourite my"، لأ، الصح: my favourite food. دي قاعدة مهمة في الإنجليزي: الصفة بتيجي قبل الاسم.

أمثلة على استخدامها:

My favourite food is chicken. (الكلمة favourite هنا قبل food)
Pizza is my favourite meal. (لاحظ استخدمت meal بدل food، الاتنين صح)
My favourite drink is tea.
