We use question words to ask about work. The most common question words are what, where, when, how, and who. In the present simple, the question word comes first, then we use do or does.

Look at the pattern:

The word do comes after the question word. With I, you, we, and they, we use do. With he, she, and it, we use does.

Where does she work? She works in a bank. When does he start? He starts at nine o'clock.

In the answer, we do not use do or does. The verb goes back to its normal form. You can also use a question word with What time. What time do you start work? I start at eight o'clock. Now look at some example sentences and notice the pattern.

إزاي تسأل عن شغلك بالإنجليزي

في الجزء ده هنتعلم قاعدة مهمة جدًا في الإنجليزي، وهي Present Simple Questions أو أسئلة المضارع البسيط. القاعدة دي بنستخدمها لما نحب نسأل حد عن شغله أو روتينه اليومي.

الترتيب الأساسي للسؤال

السؤال في الإنجليزي بيبدأ دايمًا بكلمة استفهام (Question Word) زي what و where و when و how و who. بعد كده بنحط do أو does، وبعدين الشخص، وبعدين الفعل.

مثال: What do you do for work? يعني إنت بتشتغل إيه؟

الفرق بين do و does

هنا لازم تركز على نقطة مهمة:

بنستخدم do مع: I, you, we, they
بنستخدم does مع: he, she, it

مثال: Where does your brother work? يعني فين أخوك بيشتغل؟ لاحظ استخدمنا does عشان brother مفرد غائب.

في الإجابة

لما تجاوب على السؤال، مش بنستخدم do أو does تاني، والفعل بيرجع لشكله الطبيعي.

أمثلة:

سؤال: Where does she work? → إجابة: She works in a bank. (هي بتشتغل في بنك)
سؤال: When does he start? → إجابة: He starts at nine o'clock. (هو بيبدأ الساعة تسعة)

أسئلة الوقت

ممكن كمان تستخدم What time لما تسأل عن الساعة بالظبط.

مثال: What time do you start work? (بتبدأ الشغل الساعة كام؟) → الإجابة: I start at eight o'clock.

Two old friends, Emma and Tom, meet for coffee on Saturday morning. They don't see each other very often. They talk about their work day. Tom has a new job. Emma works from home. Before you listen, think about this: What time do you start work? How do you go to work? Pay attention to where Tom works, what time he starts, how he goes to work, and what time Emma finishes. Then answer the questions in the exercises.

الدرس ده من نوع listening، يعني استماع. هتسمع محادثة بين اتنين أصحاب قديمين، Emma و Tom، بيقابلوا بعض يوم السبت الصبح على القهوة. الموضوع بسيط جداً: هما بيتكلموا عن شغلهم وعن الروتين اليومي بتاعهم.

الجمل الأساسية في المحادثة

في أول المحادثة، بنشوف التحيات العادية. Tom بيقول 'Hi Emma! I'm fine, thanks. And you?'، ودي جملة بنستخدمها كل يوم لما حد يسألنا على حالنا. بعد كده Emma بتسأله سؤال مهم: 'Do you like your new job?'. خلي بالك هنا إن السؤال في اللغة الإنجليزية بيبتدي بـ do لما نسأل عن أي حاجة في الزمن الحاضر. Tom بيرد 'Yes, I do'، ودي اختصار للـ 'Yes, I like my new job'.

التحدث عن مكان ووقت الشغل

بعدين Emma بتسأل 'Where do you work?'، و Tom بيرد 'I work in a small office in the city center.' ركز على الحاجات دي:

in بنستخدمها مع الأماكن زي office أو building.
in the city center معناها في وسط المدينة.
a small office يعني مكتب صغير.

كمان Tom بيقول 'I start work at nine o'clock in the morning.' وده بيعلمنا حاجات مهمة:

at بنحطها قبل الساعة، زي at nine o'clock.
in the morning معناها الصبح. ولاحظ إن بنقول in the morning و in the afternoon و in the evening، لكن بنقول at night.

السؤال عن المواصلات

في الآخر، Tom بيسأل Emma سؤال جميل: 'How do you go to work?'، والإجابة بتاعته هي 'I take the bus.' يعني هو بيروح الشغل بالباص. الجملة 'I take the bus' فيها فعل take اللي معناه 'يأخذ' أو 'يركب'.

نصايح مهمة قبل الاستماع

قبل ما تستمع، حاول تفكر في إجاباتك أنت كمان:

What time do you start work? الساعة كام بتبدأ شغلك؟
How do you go to work? بتروح شغلك إزاي؟
Where do you work? بتشتغل فين؟

لما تستمع، حاول تمسك الفكرة العامة الأول. متقلقش لو مش فاهم كل كلمة. اسمع تاني مرة عشان تمسك التفاصيل زي الأوقات والأماكن.

Today we practice two sounds: /w/ and /v/. They look similar but feel very different in the mouth.

/w/ - Round your lips into a small circle, like you are about to say "oo". Then open your mouth quickly. Your tongue stays at the back. Push air out with your voice on. Say "work" - you can feel your lips get round and then open.

/v/ - Put your top teeth on your bottom lip. Push air out and turn your voice on. The sound buzzes between your teeth and lip. Say "very" - you can feel your teeth touch your lip.

With /w/, the lips are round. With /v/, the teeth touch the lip.

Look at these example words:

Minimal pair: west and vest. They sound similar but the first sound is different. West has /w/. Vest has /v/. Try saying these words. Listen to the difference, then practice in the exercises below.

النهارده هنتعلم صوتين مهمين في الإنجليزي: الـ /w/ والـ /v/. الاتنين شكلهم قريب في الكتابة بس في بقك حاسس إنهم مختلفين تماماً، وده اللي بيخلي ناس كتير تغلط فيهم.

صوت الـ /w/

عشان تعمل الصوت ده، شفتيك بتلفهم زي ما هتقول 'oo' وبعدين بتفتحهم بسرعة وانت بتطلع نفس. لسانك بيفضل ورا شوية في بقك، والصوت ده voiced يعني بتستخدم صوتك معاه. جرب تقول كلمة work وهتحس إن شفتيك لفوا وبعدين اتفتحوا فجأة. وكلمات تانية فيها نفس الصوت زي walk و win و water و week.

صوت الـ /v/

ده خالص تاني. بتعمل كده: تحط أسنانك اللي فوق على شفتك اللي تحت بهدوء، وبعدين بتطلع نفس مع صوتك. هيحصل buzzing - يعني رعشة خفيفة - بين سنانك وشفتيك. جرب تقول كلمة very وهتحس بالـ buzzing ده في شفتيك. وفيه كلمات تانية فيها نفس الصوت زي vest و van و video و voice.

الـ Minimal Pair (الكلمتين اللي بيفرقوا بصوت واحد)

خد west و vest دول. الاتنين نفس الحروف تقريباً، بس:

west بتبدأ بـ /w/ → شفتيك بتلف
vest بتبدأ بـ /v/ → سنانك بتمس شفتك

لما تقولهم ورا بعض هتحس بالفرق واضح.

نصيحة: ركز على حاسة جسمك. اسأل نفسك: هل حاسس بشفتي بتلف، ولا بسنه بتمس شفتي؟ ده اللي هيخليك تقول الصوت صح من أول مرة.

To make /w/: round your lips, then open them quickly. Voice is on. To make /v/: put your top teeth on your bottom lip, push air out with voice on. Your lips and teeth are in different positions for these two sounds.

Here are useful phrases for talking about work:

Remember: question word + do + you + verb. The answer is short: I + verb.

في الدرس ده هنتعلم إزاي نسأل ونجاوب عن شغلك بالإنجليزي. الموضوع بسيط، بس محتاج تركز على نمط واحد أساسي.

النمط الأساسي للسؤال

في الإنجليزي لما تسأل عن حاجة في المضارع البسيط، بنستخدم كلمة مساعدة اسمها do. فالسؤال بيبقى بالشكل ده:

question word + do + you + verb

طب يعني إيه ده عمليًا؟

What do you do? = إيه شغلك؟
Where do you work? = فين بتشتغل؟
When do you start? = امتى بتبدأ؟
How do you go to work? = إزاي بتروح الشغل؟

لاحظ إن do دي الكلمة المساعدة اللي بتيجي بعد question word على طول. مثلًا في What do you do? الـ do الأولى هي المساعدة، والتانية هي الفعل نفسه (يعني تعمل).

الإجابات القصيرة

بعد السؤال، الإجابة بتبقى قصيرة جدًا وبسيطة جدًا: I + verb

I work in a school. (بشتغل في مدرسة)
I start at eight o'clock. (ببدأ الساعة eight)
I take the bus. (بركب الأتوبيس)
I work from home. (بشتغل من البيت)

لاحظ حاجة مهمة: do مش بتظهر في الإجابة خالص. لو حد سألك What do you do؟ مش هتقول I do work في المدرسة، هتقول I work في المدرسة على طول.

الظروف المهمة مع الأوقات والأماكن

في الإنجليزي بنستخدم حروف جر مختلفة:

at مع الساعات: I start at nine o'clock.
in مع الأماكن العامة أو الأحياء: I work in an office in the city center.
on مع أسماء الشوارع: It's on Main Street.

لاحظ أسلوب Tom لما جاوب Emma:

كل إجابة من Tom قصيرة وواضحة. مش محتاج جمل طويلة، يكفي I + verb + معلومة بسيطة.

نصيحة قبل التسجيل

لما تسجل صوتك، تخيل إنك قاعد مع صاحبك في كافيه وبتعرفوا على بعض. خلي صوتك طبيعي ومريح، ومتقلقش من الأخطاء الصغيرة. الهدف إنك تتكلم زي ما بتتكلم مع حد بتعرفه، مش إنك تقرا من ورقة.

Job and work are similar, but job is a countable noun (a good job, two jobs). Work can be a noun or a verb. Start and finish are common verbs for talking about your day: you start in the morning and finish in the afternoon. Home can be a noun (I go home) or come after another word (I work from home). Practice these words in the exercises below.

الكلمات اللي في القسم ده كلها بتتكلم عن يوم العمل بتاعك، من أول ما تصحى الصبح لحد ما ترجع البيت بالليل. خلينا ناخد بالنا من كل كلمة لوحدها وإزاي بتتكوّن معاها جملة كاملة.

أنواع الكلمات:

الفرق بين Job و Work: الكلمتين قريبين من بعض في المعنى، بس فيه فرق مهم. Job هي اسم وبتعني "وظيفة" أو "شغل معين"، ودي countable يعني بتعدّها: a job، two jobs، three jobs. مثلاً: I have a new job (أنا عندي وظيفة جديدة).

Work ممكن تبقى noun أو verb. كـ verb معناها "يشتغل"، وكـ noun معناها "الشغل" بشكل عام. مثلاً: I work in an office (أنا بشتغل في مكتب). هنا work هي الـ verb.

Start و Finish: الاتنين أفعال شائعة جداً لما بتحكي عن يومك. Start معناها "يبدأ" و Finish معناها "يخلّص". مثلاً: I start work at nine (أنا ببدأ شغلي الساعة تسعة) و I finish at five (أنا بخلّص الساعة خمسة).

باقي الكلمات:

Office = المكتب، يعني المكان اللي بتشتغل فيه.
Morning = الصبح، أول اليوم.
Home = البيت، وممكن تيجي لوحدها زي I go home أو بعد كلمة تانية زي I work from home.
Bus = الأوتوبيس الكبير اللي بتركبه للمواصلات.

نصيحة للحفظ: حاول تربط الكلمات دي ببعض في جملة واحدة، زي: I take the bus to the office in the morning. I start work at nine and I finish at five. Then I go home. كده استخدمت تقريباً كل الكلمات في سياق طبيعي وبيسهّل تحفظها.
