Participate in a language policy consultation

You are at a UK city council public hearing on the Language Education Bill. A fellow consultee has just argued that the council cannot afford to retain community-language teaching in every primary school because of budget constraints. Your task is to respond: defend the principle, present evidence, and respond constructively to the cost argument. Maintain a formal register throughout, and use the phrases you have practised: 'I take your point, but...', 'I would urge...', 'In my considered view...', 'The evidence suggests...'. Aim for three to four turns.
