Unit 10 is about transport and holidays. You learned many words for different ways to travel: bus, train, plane, car, taxi, bike, ship, ferry, subway. You also learned holiday words like hotel, beach, suitcase, ticket, passport, airport, station, trip, map, vacation. These words help you talk about travel and going to new places.

The main grammar point is the present simple. We use it for habits, daily routines, and facts. Look at the forms:

he / she / it doesn't + verb He doesn't like ships.
Do + I/you/we/they verb? Do you travel a lot?
Does + he/she/it verb? Does she have a ticket?

Common time words are: always, usually, sometimes, every day, on Mondays, in the summer, in July. These tell us how often something happens.

Using capital letters. When you write about holidays, use capital letters for: the first word in a sentence, names of people (Tom), names of places (Paris), days (Monday), and months (July). Now let's review!

الوحدة العاشرة كانت عن المواصلات والإجازات، واتعلمت فيها كلمات كتير مفيدة. في جزء المواصلات، اتعرفت على وسائل النقل المختلفة زي bus و train و plane و car و taxi و bike و ship و ferry و subway. وفي جزء الإجازات، اتعلمت كلمات أساسية زي hotel و beach و suitcase و ticket و passport و airport و station و trip و map و vacation. الكلمات دي كلها بتساعدك تتكلم عن السفر والذهاب لأماكن جديدة.

القاعدة الأساسية في الوحدة دي هي الـ present simple أو المضارع البسيط. بنستخدمه لما نتكلم عن عادات بنعملها كل يوم، أو حاجات متكررة، أو حقائق ثابتة. القاعدة بسيطة:

  • لو الفاعل I / you / we / they، الفعل بيفضل زي ما هو من غير أي إضافة. مثال: I take the bus.
  • لو الفاعل he / she / it، بنضيف s في آخر الفعل. مثال: She takes the train.

ولما نيجي للنفي أو السؤال:

  • النفي مع I/you/we/they بنستخدم don't. مثال: We don't fly.
  • النفي مع he/she/it بنستخدم doesn't وبعدها الفعل من غير s. مثال: He doesn't like ships.
  • السؤال مع I/you/we/they بنستخدم Do. مثال: Do you travel a lot?
  • السؤال مع he/she/it بنستخدم Does. مثال: Does she have a ticket?

كمان اتعلمت كلمات الوقت اللي بتوضح الحاجة بتحصل قد إيه، زي always و usually و sometimes و every day و on Mondays و in the summer و in July. الكلمات دي مهمة جداً عشان توضح لو الحاجة بتحصل كل يوم ولا أحياناً ولا مرة واحدة.

وخد بالك كمان من الحروف الكبيرة (capital letters). لازم تستخدمها في:

  • أول كلمة في أي جملة
  • أسماء الناس زي Tom
  • أسماء الأماكن زي Paris
  • أيام الأسبوع زي Monday
  • الشهور زي July

PREPARE. Before you write, think about a holiday. Answer these questions in English: Where do you go? How do you travel (bus, train, plane, car)? Who do you go with? What do you do there? When do you go? Write four or five short ideas. Use the words from this unit.

WRITE. Now write 4–5 sentences about your holiday. Use the present simple and words from this unit (transport and holiday words). Example: 'I go to the beach every summer. I take the train with my family. We stay at a hotel. I like the trip a lot.' Remember to use capital letters for names of places, people, days, and months.

REVIEW. Check your writing: 1) Did you use capital letters for places (Paris), people (Tom), days (Monday), and months (July)? 2) Did you add -s with he / she / it (she takes)? 3) Did you use don't / doesn't for negatives? 4) Did you use time words (every summer, usually, always)? 5) Did you use transport and holiday words?
