Welcome to Unit 11 Review! In this unit, you learned how to talk about the weather, the four seasons, and the twelve months of the year. This review helps you practice everything together.

Weather words describe the sky and the air outside. You can use these words with it: It's sunny. It's cold. It's rainy. The word it is very important in English weather sentences. You cannot say "Is sunny today." You must say "It is sunny today."

Seasons are the four parts of the year: spring, summer, fall (or autumn), and winter. Each season has its own weather. In spring, it is warm. In summer, it is hot. In fall, it is cool. In winter, it is cold.

Months are the twelve parts of the year. Use in before a month: In January, it is cold. In July, it is hot. You can also use in before a season: In summer, I go to the beach.

Writing task: Write a short paragraph about your favorite season. Say the weather, the months, and what you like to do.

Using capital letters: Start every sentence with a capital letter: I. It. My. This makes your writing easy to read.

في الوحدة دي اتعلمت إزاي تتكلم عن الطقس (weather)، الـ four seasons (الأربع فصول)، والـ twelve months (الاتناشر شهر) بتوع السنة. تعالى نراجعهم مع بعض بسرعة.

الطقس (Weather)

في الإنجليزي، لما تتكلم عن الطقس، لازم تستخدم كلمة it قبل الوصف. متقولش "is sunny today" أبداً - لازم تقول "It is sunny today". الـ it دي مش بتيجي من حاجة معينة، دي شكل من أشكال الجملة في الإنجليزي لازم تحطها في الأول.

أمثلة على كلمات الطقس اللي اتعلمتها:

  • sunny (شمسي)
  • cloudy (غيم)
  • rainy (ممطر)
  • windy (عاصف بالهوا)
  • hot (حر)
  • cold (برد)
  • warm (دافي)
  • cool (معتدل ومنعش)
  • snowy (متلج)

فمثلاً بتقول: "It is hot" أو "It is cloudy".

الفصول (Seasons)

السنة فيها 4 فصول ولكل فصل طقس مميز:

  • Spring (الربيع) - بيكون warm و rainy
  • Summer (الصيف) - بيكون hot و sunny
  • Fall أو Autumn (الخريف) - بيكون cool و windy
  • Winter (الشتا) - بيكون cold و snowy

الشهور (Months)

السنة فيها 12 شهر، ولما تتكلم عن شهر معين، استخدم in قبله. القاعدة دي سهلة: in + month.

  • In January, it is cold.
  • In July, it is hot.
  • In September, it is windy.

ونفس القاعدة مع الفصول: In summer, I go to the beach.

مهمة الكتابة (Writing Task)

المطلوب منك تكتب فقرة قصيرة عن your favorite season (فصلك المفضل). لازم تغطي 3 حاجات:

  1. الـ weather (الطقس) - استخدم it is
  2. الـ months (الشهور) - استخدم in
  3. اللي بتحب تعمله في الفصل ده

ومتنساش capital letters - ابدأ كل جملة بحرف كبير: I. It. My.

  4. What do you like to do in this season?

Example answers: My favorite season is fall. The months are September, October, and November. It is cool and windy. I like to walk in the park and see the leaves.

WRITE — write your paragraph.

Write 4 or 5 sentences about your favorite season. Use this model:

My favorite season is . The months are , , and . It is ___ and ___. I like to ___ in this season.

Remember:

  • Use it is for weather.
  • Use in before months and seasons.
  • Start every sentence with a capital letter.
  • Put a period (.) at the end.

REVIEW — check your work.

Read your paragraph again. Check these four things:

✅ Did I start every sentence with a capital letter? ✅ Did I use it is for the weather? (Not "Is cold.") ✅ Did I use in before months and seasons? ✅ Did I end every sentence with a period?

If you said yes to all four — great job! If you said no to one, fix it now. A good review makes good writing.
