When you talk about a special day, you usually answer three simple questions: When is it?, What do you do?, and Why is it important? You don't need long sentences — short, clear answers are best at A2 level. A good answer can be just three sentences.

For routines — things you do every year — use the simple present with words like always, usually, or every year:

  • "I always eat cake on my birthday."
  • "We usually have a big meal with the family."
  • "Every year we visit my grandmother's house."

For plans — things you will do soon — use the present continuous with this or next:

  • "I'm having a party this weekend."
  • "We're going to a music festival next month."

Here are useful phrases you can mix together. Try to learn two or three of them:

  • "My birthday is in May."
  • "I celebrate Eid with my family."
  • "We usually have a big meal on this day."
  • "It's important to me because I see my family."
  • "On my birthday we eat cake and open presents."

Notice the structure: you can answer in three short sentences — the day, the activity, and the reason. This is a clear and natural way to speak in English.

Now listen to the model dialogue and practise the speaking steps. Then finish by talking to Emma about a special day that is important to you.

  • When is it? — إمتى؟
  • What do you do? — بتعمل إيه؟
  • Why is it important? — ليه مهم ليك؟

الـ A2 level مش محتاج جمل طويلة — جمل قصيرة وواضحة أحسن بكتير.

زمن المضارع البسيط للحاجات اللي بتتكرّر كل سنة

لو بتتكلّم عن حاجة بتعملها كل سنة (routine)، استخدم الـ simple present مع كلمات زي:

  • always (دايماً)
  • usually (عادةً)
  • every year (كل سنة)

أمثلة:

  • I always eat cake on my birthday.
  • We usually have a big meal with the family.
  • Every year we visit my grandmother's house.

زمن المضارع المستمر للخطط

لو بتتكلّم عن حاجة هتعملها قريب (plan)، استخدم الـ present continuous مع this أو next:

  • I'm having a party this weekend.
  • We're going to a music festival next month.

جمل جاهزة من الـ dialogue تقدر تستخدمها

  • "My birthday is in June." — للتاريخ
  • "I have a party with my friends. We eat cake." — للنشاط
  • "Yes, I see all my family and friends." — للسبب
  • "Sounds fun! Is it important to you?" — سؤال متابعة حلو

الـ structure المثالي للإجابة

اجاوب في ٣ جمل قصيرة:

  1. اسم اليوم: My birthday is in June.
  2. النشاط: I have a party with my friends.
  3. السبب: It's important because I see all my family.

ده نفس الـ model sentence في الدرس: "My birthday is in June and I have a party with my friends."

نصيحة: قبل ما تسجّل، اسأل نفسك الأسئلة الـ ٣ دول بصوت عالي، وبعدين اتكلّم كأنك مع صاحبك. خلي إجابتك صادقة وقصيرة.

People all over the world have special days. A special day is a day we remember or celebrate. There are many kinds of special days. Some happen once a year, like a birthday or a national holiday. Others are big personal events, like a wedding or a festival. There are also public celebrations, like New Year or a music festival.

On these days we often do the same things. We meet family, we eat special food, we give presents, and we feel happy. Many special days have a cake and welcome guests to a party. In some countries, people wear special clothes or play music.

In this lesson you will learn eight common English words. You will use them to talk about the days that are important to you. The words are all nouns, so you can put them after a or my (a party, my birthday). For example: "I love my birthday" or "We go to a festival in summer."

Look at the table below. Read the word, its type, the meaning in your language, and the example sentence. Then continue with the practice steps.

Word Type Example
birthday noun My birthday is in May.
wedding noun The wedding is on Saturday.
festival noun The music festival is in July.
holiday noun We have a holiday next week.
party noun I'm having a party on Friday.
present noun I bought a present for my mum.
cake noun We eat cake at birthdays.
guests noun The guests arrive at six o'clock.

Try to learn the words well. The next step will help you remember them.

مثال: a party (حفلة) أو my birthday (يوم ميلادي). الجملة اللي في الدرس نموذج كويس: We have a big party on my birthday. – يعني "إحنا عندنا حفلة كبيرة في يوم ميلادي". شايف إزاي a قبل big party و my قبل birthday؟

  • The wedding is on Saturday. (الفرح يوم السبت)
  • I'm having a party on Friday. (عندي حفلة يوم الجمعة)
  • I bought a present for my mum. (اشتريت هدية لماما)

نصيحة للحفظ

حاول تربط كل كلمة بموقف حقيقي من حياتك. فكر في آخر birthday ليك، أو holiday رحت فيها. كل ما ربطت الكلمة بصورة حقيقية، هتفضل في دماغك أكتر.
