What is a noun?

In a sentence, a cat can be the subject, the one doing the action. The dog often runs around the yard. We also see places like a house or a tree mentioned. These words name people, animals, or things.

What is a verb?

The action in a sentence is shown by a run or a jump. When you eat breakfast, you use a verb. You can also write a story with a verb. Verbs tell us what happens.
