The Lost Cat

One morning, Lily wakes up. "Where is Milo?" she asks. Milo's bed is empty. Lily is very sad.

She calls her friends, Sam and Tom. "Milo is lost," she says. "We need to find him."

The friends walk through the neighbourhood. They look in the garden. They look under the big bush. "Where are you, Milo?" calls Sam. But Milo is not there.

They ask the old woman next door. "I don't see your cat," she says.

Tom looks up. "Look! Milo is in the tree!"

Milo is very high in the old oak tree. He is scared. Lily has an idea. She gets Milo's favourite food from home.

"Come on, Milo," she says softly. "I have fish."

Slowly, Milo comes down. He jumps into Lily's arms. "Milo! You're home!" she says happily.

Her friends smile. Milo is safe now.
