Now you know the names of eight common things. In this section, you will learn how to talk to a shop assistant and buy things. These short phrases will help you in any store.

I want to buy ... — use this to say what you need. I need some ... — the same idea, in a different way. How much is it? — use this to ask the price of one thing. How much are they? — use this to ask the price of many things. I'll take it / them. — use this to say "yes, I want this."

A shop assistant often says: Can I help you? — the first question. Here you are. — when they give you the thing.

Listen to the dialogue. A man goes to a small store and buys apples and bread. Notice how he uses the phrases above. Then you will read the key sentence out loud. After that, you will speak two of the sentences. Finally, you will have your own short conversation with the AI shop assistant.

تتكلم مع البائع في المحل زي الأجانب

في الدرس ده هنتعلم إزاي تعمل محادثة قصيرة في أي محل أو سوبر ماركت. الحوار بسيط، بس بيفتحلك باب تتكلم فيه عن أي حاجة عايز تشتريها.

أول حاجة: البائع بيفتح معاك الحوار لما تدخل المحل، البائع غالبًا بيقول "Can I help you?" ومعناها "أقدر أساعدك؟" دي جملة مهذبة بيقولها لكل زبون. ردك عليها بيبدأ المحادثة كلها.

تاني حاجة: تقول إيه اللي عايزه عندك طريقتين:

  • I want to buy some apples — معناها "أنا عايز أشتري تفاح".
  • I also need some bread — معناها "أنا كمان محتاج عيش".

الفرق بينهم بسيط: "I want to buy" للتعبير عن الرغبة، و"I need" للتعبير عن الاحتياج. وكلمة some بتنحط قبل الاسم الجمع أو المواد.

تالت حاجة: تسأل عن السعر وهنا لازم تركز على فرق مهم جدًا:

  • How much is it? → لما الحاجة واحدة، بنستخدم is و it.
  • How much are they? → لما الحاجات كتير، بنستخدم are و they.

مثال: التفاح كتير فبنقول "How much are they?"، لكن العيش رغيف واحد فبنقول "How much is it?".

رابع حاجة: تقفل الصفقة لما يعجبك السعر وتقرر تشتري، بتقول:

  • I'll take it, please — لو حاجة واحدة.
  • I'll take them, please — لو حاجات كتير.

I'll دي اختصار لـ "I will"، ومعناها "هاخد".

خطوات المحادثة بالترتيب:

  • البائع يقول: Can I help you?
  • أنت تقول اللي عايزه: I want to buy some ...
  • تسأل عن السعر: How much is it / are they?
  • تقبل وتقول: I'll take it / them, please.

ركّز كويس على الفرق بين is/are و it/they — دول هما مفتاح الدرس كله.

Every day, people go to stores and buy things. You can buy food, drinks, clothes, and many other items. In this lesson, you will learn the English names for eight common things you can buy. All of these are nouns.

Look at the table below. Each row shows one new word, its type, a short gloss in your language, and an example sentence. Read each example sentence out loud. This will help you remember the words.

In English, we use a or an with one item: an apple, a book. We use some with things you cannot count one by one: some water, some milk, some bread. Try to notice these small forms in the example sentences.

After you meet the words, you will match each word with a short description. Then you will read a model sentence out loud. Next, you will hear a short sentence and answer a question about it. Finally, you will do a small comprehension check to see how much you remember.

كل يوم بنروح المحل أو السوبرماركت عشان نشتري حاجات كتير. في الدرس ده هنتعلم ٨ كلمات أساسية في الإنجليزي للحاجات اللي بنشريها في حياتنا اليومية - من الأكل والشرب لحد الأدوات والملابس.

كل كلمة هنا اسم (Noun)

الكلمات دي كلها أسماء بسيطة بتتقال في مواقف الشراء العادية. ينفع نقسمها لجموعتين عشان نفتكرها بسهولة:

أكل ومشروبات (Food & Drinks):

  • apple - تفاحة
  • bread - خبز
  • milk - لبن
  • water - مية
  • coffee - قهوة

حاجات تانية (Other items):

  • book - كتاب
  • pen - قلم
  • shirt - قميص

قاعدة مهمة جداً: a ولا an ولا some؟

في الإنجليزي عندنا فرق كبير بين الحاجات اللي بنقدر نعدها واحدة واحدة (countable) والحاجات اللي مش بنعدها (uncountable):

لما الحاجة تبقى واحدة ومينفعش نقول اتنين منها بالظبط، بنستخدم a أو an:

  • an apple (تفاحة واحدة) - بنقول an قبل الصوت الصوتي
  • a book (كتاب واحد)
  • a pen (قلم واحد)
  • a shirt (قميص واحد)

لما الحاجة تبقى مش بنعدها بالقطعة، بنستخدم some قبلها:

  • some bread (شوية خبز - مش بنقول "bread واحد")
  • some milk (شوية لبن)
  • some water (شوية مية)
  • some coffee (شوية قهوة)

الجملة النموذجية بتقول: "I want to buy an apple and some bread."

شوف هنا إزاي استخدمنا an apple لأن التفاحة حاجة واحدة بنعدها، و some bread لأن الخبز بناخده بالقطعة أو بالوزن ومش بنعده.

نصيحة للحفظ

لما تتدرب، حاول تقول كل كلمة في جملة. مثلاً:

  • I drink coffee in the morning.
  • She wears a blue shirt.
  • I write with a pen.
