In English we use have and has to talk about things we own, or about family and pets. The form changes with the subject (the person or animal).

Look at the table below. The rule is simple: use has with he, she or it. Use have with I, you, we and they.

Negative sentences add do not or does not in front of the verb. In speech we usually say the short forms don't and doesn't:

I don't have a cat.
She doesn't have a dog.

Questions also use do or does at the start:

Do you have a pet? — Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
Does he have a rabbit? — Yes, he does. / No, he doesn't.

⚠️ Common mistake: do not say "she have a cat". Always say "she has a cat". The -s on has is very important in English.

Contractions are common in everyday English: I've got a dog, He's got a cat, She's got a fish. You can use either I have or I've got with the same meaning.

قاعدة Have و Has في الإنجليزي

يا صديقي، تعالوا نتعلم النهاردة قاعدة مهمة جدًا في الإنجليزي، وهي إزاي تقول "أنا عندي" أو "هي عندها" لما تتكلم عن حيوانك الأليف.

الفرق بين Have و Has

في الإنجليزي عندنا شكلين للفعل: have و has. الاتنين معناه "عند" أو "يملك"، بس بيختلفوا على حسب الفاعل (subject)، يعني الشخص أو الحيوان اللي بنتكلم عنه.

القاعدة بسيطة كده:

لو الفاعل I (أنا) أو you (إنت/إنتي) أو we (إحنا) أو they (هم) → بنستخدم have
لو الفاعل he (هو) أو she (هي) أو it (للحيوانات والأشياء) → بنستخدم has

أمثلة من الدرس

I have a friendly dog called Max. (أنا عندي كلب ودود اسمه ماكس)
My sister has a black cat called Luna. (أختي عندها قطة سوداء اسمها لونا)

شفت الفرق؟ مع I بنقول have، ومع My sister (وهي she) بنقول has. لاحظ إن الـ s اللي في has مهمة جدًا، متنسهاش أبدًا.

الجمل المنفية (Negative)

لو عايز تقول إنك مش عندك حيوان، بنضيف don't أو doesn't قبل الفعل:

I don't have a cat. (أنا مش عندي قطة)
She doesn't have a dog. (هي مش عندها كلب)

لاحظ حاجة مهمة: مع doesn't بنرجع لـ have من غير الـ s، لأن الـ s بتتحط في doesn't نفسها.

الأسئلة (Questions)

لو عايز تسأل سؤال، بنحط Do أو Does في أول الجملة:

Do you have a pet? (هل عندك حيوان أليف؟)
Does he have a rabbit? (هل عنده أرنب؟)

والإجابة بتكون قصيرة جدًا: Yes, I do / No, I don't، أو Yes, he does / No, he doesn't.

الاختصارات (Contractions)

في الكلام اليومي، الإنجليز بيستخدموا اختصارات كتير بدل have/has:

I've got a dog = I have a dog
She's got a cat = She has a cat
He's got a fish = He has a fish

الاتنين معناه واحد تمامًا، فممكن تستخدم أي واحد فيهم عادي.

غلطة شائعة لازم تتجنبها

متقولش أبدًا "she have a cat"، دي غلطة كبيرة عند الناطقين بالإنجليزي. الصح دايمًا "she has a cat". الـ s في has هي العلامة اللي بتقول إن الفاعل he أو she أو it. ركز على الفاعل الأول، وبعدين اختار have أو has، وبكده هتضرب في الحديد.

في التمارين الجاية، ركز على مين اللي بيتكلم عنه، هل هو I ولا she ولا they؟ وده اللي هيحددلك تستخدم have ولا has.

You will hear a short conversation between two friends, Emma and Tom. They meet in a park and start talking about their pets.

Before you listen, think: when you meet a friend in English, what questions can you ask about a pet? You can ask Do you have a pet?, What's its name? or What colour is it?.

As you listen, try to catch three things:

One thing each pet likes to do

First, listen for the gist — the general idea of the conversation. Don't worry about every word. Then listen a second time for the specific information — the names, the colours and the activities. The conversation is short, so you can hear it more than once.

إحنا النهاردة هنتعلم من محادثة قصيرة بين اتنين أصحاب. المحادثة دي بسيطة جداً وهي هتعلمك إزاي تسأل عن حيوان أليف وإزاي تصفه.

الشخصيات والموقف Emma و Tom هما اتنين أصحاب بيتقابلوا في الحديقة. بيبدأوا بالسؤال العادي How are you? وبعدين بسرعة بيدخلوا في موضوع الحيوانات الأليفة. اسمع كويس وهتلاقي إن كل جملة في المحادثة ليها وظيفة واضحة.

أهم الكلمات والعبارات

pet = حيوان أليف (قطة، كلب، عصفور... إلخ)
have = عندي / عنده — بنستخدمها لما نتكلم عن حاجة ملكنهاش. مثلاً: I have a cat يعني "عندي قطة"
name = اسم
colour = لون
friendly = ودود / لطيف
sleep = ينام
run = يجري

قواعد مهمة في المحادثة

ضمير الحيوان — لما نتكلم عن حيوان أليف، بنستخدم she للأنثى و he للذكر. مثلاً: Emma بتقول Her name is Luna و She likes to sleep لأن Luna قطة. وTom بيقول His name is Max و he's very friendly لأن Max كلب.
لونين مع بعض — لما تيجي تقول لونين، بتستخدم and في النص. مثلاً: She's black and white يعني لونها أسود وأبيض.
التعبير عن الحاجات اللي بيحبها الحيوان — بتقول likes to + الفعل. مثلاً: She likes to sleep on my bed أو He likes to run in the park.
السؤال عن اللون — بتقول What colour is he/she? وبتبدأ الإجابة بـ She's... أو He's...

إيه اللي تركز عليه وأنت بتسمع

اسمع أول مرة عشان تفهم الفكرة العامة: مين عنده إيه.
اسمع تاني مرة عشان تمسك التفاصيل: الأسماء، الألوان، والأنشطة.
حاول تلتقط الأسئلة زي Do you have a pet? و What colour is she?

الحوار ده قصير وبسيط، فممكن تسمعه أكتر من مرة. متقلقش لو فاتتك كلمة — استمتع بالحوار وحاول تفهم المعنى العام الأول.

Pronunciation

Today we look at two sounds that come at the end of have and has. They look similar, but they are different! Mixing them up is one of the most common pronunciation mistakes for learners of English.

The sound /v/ — the end of 'have'

Put your top teeth gently on your bottom lip.
Switch your voice ON — you can feel a small buzz in your throat.
Push the air out gently: vvvvvv.
Try the words: have, love, live, leave.

The sound /z/ — the end of 'has'

Put the tip of your tongue near the top of your mouth, just behind your top teeth.
Switch your voice ON — you can feel a buzz again.
Let the air flow out: zzzzz.
Try the words: has, is, his, zoo.

The difference:

Listen to the short vowel /æ/ in both words — your mouth is open and relaxed, like in cat and man. Now practise the difference between have and has out loud. The vibration is the same; only the mouth position changes.

صوت الـ /v/ في آخر كلمة have

كلمة have بتنطق /hæv/ — يعني آخر صوت فيها هو /v/. عشان تعمله صح:

حط أسنانك العلوية على شفايفك السفلية بهدوء
شغّل صوتك، يعني هتحس بذبذبة خفيفة في زورك
اطلع الهوا من بين أسنانك وشفايفك: /vvvvvv/

كمان الصوت ده موجود في كلمات تانية زي love وlive وleave.

صوت الـ /z/ في آخر كلمة has

كلمة has بتنطق /hæz/ — وآخر صوت فيها هو /z/. الطريقة مختلفة شوية:

ارفع طرف لسانك لحد ما يبقى ورا أسنانك العلوية مباشرة
برضه شغّل صوتك، يعني بذبذبة في زورك
سيب الهوا يطلع من جنب لسانك: /zzzzz/

والصوت ده موجود في كلمات زي is وhis وzoo.

إيه الفرق بين الاتنين؟

الاتنين voiced، يعني لازم صوتك يكون شغال وانت بتقولهم — مش زي حرف الـ /f/ أو الـ /s/ اللي بيطلعوا من غير صوت خالص. بس الفرق الحقيقي في شكل بقك:

في /v/: الأسنان بتمس الشفايف
في /z/: طرف اللسان ورا الأسنان من فوق

والحركة دي في بقك هي اللي بتخلي الكلمتين تطلعوا مختلفين تمامًا، حتى لو الاتنين فيهما نفس الصوت القصير /æ/ في النص — زي اللي في cat وman.

نصيحة للممارسة

جرّب تقول have وhas ورا بعض ببطء، وهتحس إن بقك بيتغير من شكل للتاني. ركّز على آخر صوت بس، وبعدين زوّد السرعة شوية. لما تحس بالفرق، الكلمات اللي في التمرين زي I have a cat وShe has a dog هتطلع منك طبيعية.

Remember: 'have' ends with /v/ — top teeth on bottom lip, voice ON. 'Has' ends with /z/ — tongue up behind the teeth, voice ON. Both sounds buzz, but the mouth shape is different.

Reading strategy — Scanning

When you scan a text, you move your eyes quickly to find specific information — for example, a name, a colour or a number. You do not read every word. Scan for the questions first, then look only for those words in the text.

In this message, scan for:

the names of the pets
the colours of the pets
what each pet likes to do

إزاي تقرأ الرسالة صح؟

التمرين ده بيعلمك حاجة اسمها scanning، وده أسلوب مهم جداً في القراءة. لما تعمل scan لنص، إنت مش بتقرأ كل كلمة فيه. لأ، إنت بتحرك عينيك بسرعة عشان تلاقي معلومة معينة بس. زي مثلاً لما تدور على اسم في كتاب تليفونات، إنت مش بتقرأ كل الأسماء، إنت بتدور على الاسم اللي محتاجه بس.

خطوات القراءة:

أولاً: اقرأ الرسالة مرة واحدة سريعة عشان تفهم الفكرة العامة (the gist) — يعني الموضوع بيقول إيه بشكل عام.
ثانياً: اقرأها تاني، بس المرة دي ركز على الكلمات اللي بتدور عليها. هنسأل عن:
الـ names بتاعت الحيوانات
الـ colours بتاعتهم
what each pet likes to do — يعني كل حيوان بيحب يعمل إيه

كلمات مهمة قبل ما تقرأ:

message (رسالة) — قطعة قصيرة من الكلام أو الكتابة بتبعتها لحد.
colour (لون) — زي الأحمر أو الأزرق، الشكل بتاع الحاجة.
food (طعام) — أي حاجة بتاكلها.
walk (يمشي / نزهة) — لما تطلع تمشي أو تاخد حيوانك يمشي شوية.
happy (سعيد) — لما تكون مبسوط أو فرحان.

نصيحة ذهبية:

قبل ما تقرأ، بص على الأسئلة اللي بعدها. كده عينك هتعرف تدور على إيه. مثلاً لو السؤال بيقول "What colour is the cat?"، إنت بتبص على كلمة cat في النص وتشوف جنبها لون إيه. ده بيوفر وقت ومجهود.

القاعدة بسيطة: لو الكلام عن شخص واحد بس (هو أو هي أو الحيوان)، بنقول has، لو عن أكتر من واحد، بنقول have.

إزاي تتكلّم عن حيوانك الأليف بالإنجليزي

الفرق بين have و has

القاعدة الأساسية هي الفعل have (عنده/يملك). الفعل ده بيتغيّر حسب الفاعل:

I have a dog — أنا عندي كلب
You have a cat — أنت عندك قطة
He has / She has / It has — هو/هي عنده/عندها
We have / They have — إحنا/هم عندهم

يعني لو بتتكلّم عن نفسك بتقول I have، بس لو بتتكلّم عن حيوانك أو حد تاني بتقول has. مثلاً: I have a dog. His name is Buddy. He is very friendly. ركّز على his للذكر و her للأنثى، زي ما قلنا I have a cat. Her name is Luna.

كلمات وعبارات هتحتاجها

الكلمات المهمة في المحادثة:

friendly (ودود) — عشان توصّف طبيعة الحيوان
play in the park (يلعب في الحديقة)
colour (لون) — زي grey أو black أو white
lovely (جميل/لطيف) — بنستخدمها للمدح
cool (حلو/ظريف) — زي ما بنقول يا صاحبي

جمل كاملة، مش كلمات مفردة

مهم جداً تتكلّم بجُمل كاملة مش بكلمة واحدة. بدل ما تقول "Dog" بس، قول "I have a friendly dog called Max." الجملة دي فيها كل المعلومات: عندك، نوع الحيوان، صفته، واسمه. وده اللي بيخلّي المحادثة طبيعية.

نصيحة للمحادثة مع الـ AI

لما تيجي تتكلّم مع الـ AI، حاول ترد في جملتين أو تلاتة كاملة كل مرة. متقلقش من الغلط الصغير — اللي يهم إنك تكمّل تتكلّم. مثلاً لما يسألك "Do you have a pet?"، متقولش بس "Yes"، قول "Yes, I have a cat. Her name is Luna. She likes to sleep on my bed."

Welcome to the vocabulary block! In this lesson we look at common words for pets and the people who love them. A pet is an animal that lives with you at home, and the person who looks after a pet is called the owner.

In the UK, the most popular pets are a dog and a cat, but many people also keep a bird or a fish at home. Other popular pets are a rabbit and a turtle. Owners often describe their pets as friendly because they are kind and they like people.

Look at the table below. Each word has a part of speech, an Arabic meaning and a useful example sentence. Read the examples out loud so you can hear the new words in a sentence. You will see these words again in the grammar, listening and reading sections.

كلام عن الحيوانات الأليفة 🐾

في الدرس ده هنتعلم كلمات أساسية عن الحيوانات اللي بنربيها في البيت، واللي بنسميها pets. الكلمة دي مهمة جداً في الحياة اليومية، لأنها بتظهر في كلامنا كتير لما بنتكلم عن بيوتنا وعيلتنا.

أنواع الحيوانات الأليفة

أكتر الحيوانات الأليفة شيوعاً في بريطانيا هما الـ dog (الكلب) والـ cat (القطة). في ناس كتير بيحبوا يربوا bird (طائر) أو fish (سمكة) في البيت، والـ fish ممكن تكون في حوض سمك صغير أو كبير. كمان في ناس بيحبوا الـ rabbit (الأرنب)، خصوصاً العيلان الصغيرين.

صاحب الحيوان (the owner)

الشخص اللي بيربي الحيوان في بيته بنقول عليه owner. يعني مثلاً لو قلت "My friend is the happy owner of a friendly dog"، ده معناه إن صاحبي عنده كلب ودود. كلمة owner دي بنستخدمها مع حاجات تانية كمان، مش بس الحيوانات — يعني ممكن تكون owner of a car أو owner of a house.

صفة مهمة: friendly

لما توصف حيوان لطيف وبيرحب بالناس، بتقول إنه friendly، يعني ودود. الـ friendly دي adjective (صفة)، وبتيجي قبل الاسم زي "a friendly dog" أو بعد verb زي "is friendly".

نصيحة للحفظ

أحسن طريقة تحفظ بيها الكلمات دي إنك تقول جملة كاملة بيها، زي:

I have a friendly dog.
The bird sings every morning.
My rabbit is white.
