When you have a technology problem, you need special English. You need to describe the problem and ask for help. Polite words are very important. They help the helper feel good and want to help you.

You can use these phrases at school, at home, or in a store. When you speak slowly and clearly, the helper understands you better. Don't worry about perfect grammar. Just use these simple phrases. People want to help you!

Here are useful phrases for asking for tech help:

طلب المساعدة في مشكلة تقنية (Ask for Technical Help)

تخيل إنك في محل أو في الشغل ولابتوبك وقف شغال فجأة. محتاج تطلب مساعدة، بس مش عارف تقول إيه بالإنجليزي. في الدرس ده هنتعلم جمل بسيطة وعملية تقدر تستخدمها في أي مكان، سواء في المدرسة أو البيت أو عند حد بيبيع أجهزة.

الجملة الأساسية: I have a problem with...

دي الجملة اللي هتفتح بيها أي محادثة لما تحتاج مساعدة تقنية. بنستخدمها لما يكون عندنا عطل في أي جهاز:

  • I have a problem with my laptop. (عندي مشكلة في اللابتوب بتاعي)
  • I have a problem with my computer. (عندي مشكلة في الكمبيوتر بتاعي)
  • I have a problem with my phone. (عندي مشكلة في الموبايل بتاعي)

لاحظ إن "my" بتيجي قبل اسم الجهاز عشان توضح إن الجهاز بتاعك إنت، مش جهاز حد تاني.

وصف المشكلة: It doesn't + verb

لو عايز تقول إن الجهاز مش شغال، بنستخدم "doesn't" + الفعل في المضارع البسيط. ركّز على النطق:

  • It doesn't turn on. (مش بيشتغل / مش بيولّع)
  • It doesn't work. (مش شغال)
  • It doesn't connect. (مش بيتوصل بالنت)

وصف اللي بتشوفه بعينك

الشخص اللي بي help هيسألك إيه اللي حصل. هنا بتوصف اللي أنت شايفه على الشاشة:

  • The screen is black. (الشاشة سودا، يعني مش بتيجي عليها صورة)
  • The screen is frozen. (الشاشة واقفة)

الأدب مهم جداً (Politeness matters)

في الإنجليزي، لازم دايماً تستخدم كلمات زي "please" و "thank you" و "excuse me". الكلام ده بيفرق جداً في التعامل:

  • Excuse me, can you help me? (لو سمحت، ممكن تساعدني؟)
  • Can you show me the laptop? (ممكن تشوف اللابتوب؟)

In this section, you will listen to a conversation at a technology store. Tom has a problem with his laptop. He goes to the store to ask Emma for help. Emma works at the store. She is a helper.

Before you listen, think about this: What can you say when your computer doesn't work? Where can you go for help? What information does the helper need?

Listen to Emma and Tom. What is Tom's problem? How does Emma help him? Can Emma fix the laptop?

Try to listen for these key words: problem, screen, turn on, buy, receipt. These words help you understand the situation.

In English conversations, people often use short answers. "Yes, here it is" and "It doesn't work" are common. Listen for these short phrases. They are important for understanding the real meaning.

تخيّل إنك رحت محل تكنولوجيا ومحتاج مساعدة في جهازك. الحوار اللي هتسمعه بين Emma و Tom بسيط جداً، بس فيه كلمات وجمل هتفيدك في حياتك اليومية لو محتاج تطلب مساعدة في أي حاجة.

Tom ردّ وقال: "I have a problem with my laptop." - هنا تركيبة مهمة جداً: have a problem with + شيء. يعني "عندي مشكلة في الـ ...". تقدر تستخدمها في أي موقف، مثلاً:

  • I have a problem with my phone.
  • I have a problem with my internet.

بعدين Emma سألت: "What's the problem?" - دي طريقة تانية تسأل بيها عن نفس الحاجة. والإجابة كانت: "The screen is black. It doesn't turn on." لاحظ هنا إننا بنستخدم doesn't قبل الفعل في المضارع عشان ننفي، يعني "مش شغال".

لما Emma سألت "When did you buy it?"، هنا بنستخدم did مع الفعل في الماضي. والإجابة "Last month" قصيرة جداً، وده طبيعي جداً في المحادثات.

لما Tom قال "Yes, here it is"، دي إجابة قصيرة جداً. الإنجليز بيحبوا الإجابات القصيرة في الحياة اليومية - مش لازم تقول جملة كاملة، كلمة واحدة أو اتنين كفاية. تعلّم الإجابات دي هتسهّل عليك الكلام:

إزاي تستمع بذكاء

في المرة الأولى، ركّز على الفكرة العامة بس: مين عنده مشكلة، وإيه هي، وإيه اللي هيحصل بعدين. مش لازم تفهم كل كلمة. لو حسيت إنك محتاج تفاصيل أكتر، اسمع تاني مرة وحاول تلتقط كلمات زي receipt أو screen أو buy.

The /k/ sound is a very common consonant in English. You can hear it in many technology words, so it is very useful for this lesson.

To make this sound, lift the back of your tongue up to the soft part at the top of your mouth. Then push air out quickly. Your voice does not vibrate — it is a "voiceless" sound. Your teeth do not touch. Your lips are slightly open.

The /k/ sound can be at the start, middle, or end of a word. Listen to these common technology words:

Practice the sound every day. Say "computer, keyboard, click" five times. Now say them faster. The /k/ sound is short and quick. A strong, clean /k/ sound helps people understand your English words clearly.

Reading is an important skill. Before you read, look at the title and the first line. This is called "skimming." Skimming helps you get the main idea quickly.

When you skim, don't read every word. Just look at the important parts. Look at:

  • The greeting (Hi, Hello, Dear)
  • The first sentence
  • The last sentence

These parts tell you the main idea.

A good reader skims first, then reads carefully. The first time, read fast. The second time, read slowly. Look for the key words. Mark the words you don't know.

Now read this email. It is from Sara to the IT department at her school. She has a problem with her computer.

القراءة الذكية - مهارة الـ Skimming

في الجزء ده هنتعلم مهارة مهمة جداً اسمها skimming، ودي معناها إنك تقرأ النص بسرعة عشان تاخد الفكرة الرئيسية من غير ما تقرأ كل كلمة فيه. تخيل إنك بتبص على الصورة من بعيد عشان تفهم هي عن إيه، مش لازم تشوف كل تفصيلة.

إزاي تعمل Skimming؟

بص بس على الحاجات دي:

  • الـ greeting أو السلام، زي "Hi" أو "Hello" أو "Dear"
  • الـ first sentence أو أول جملة في النص
  • الـ last sentence أو آخر جملة
  • الـ title أو العنوان

الحاجات دي مع بعض هتدّيك فكرة عامة عن النص.

خطوات القراءة الجيدة

القراءة الكويسة على مرحلتين. أول مرة، اقرأ بسرعة عشان تاخد الفكرة العامة (read fast). تاني مرة، اقرأ بهدوء وتدريج (read slowly) وابحث عن الكلمات المهمة (key words). ولو لقيت كلمة مش عارفها، علّمها أو اكتبها جنبك (mark the words you don't know).

الكلمات الجديدة في الدرس

  • problem = مشكلة، يعني فيه حاجة غلط. مثال: "I have a problem with my computer" يعني عندي مشكلة في الكمبيوتر.
  • Wi-Fi = الإنترنت اللاسلكي اللي بيخلي الأجهزة تتصل بدون سلك. مثال: "The Wi-Fi is not working" يعني الواي فاي مش شغال.
  • email = رسائل بتبعت وتتستقبل على الكمبيوتر. مثال: "I can't open my email" يعني مش قادر أفتح الإيميل بتاعي.
  • homework = الواجب أو الشغل المدرسي اللي بتعمله في البيت. مثال: "I need to do my homework" يعني محتاج أعمل الواجب بتاعي.

الإيميل اللي هتقرأه

الإيميل ده من بنت اسمها Sara مبعوت لقسم الـ IT في المدرسة بتاعتها. هي عندها مشكلة في الكمبيوتر بتاعها ومحتاجة مساعدة. لما تقرأ الإيميل، ركز على الـ greeting وأول جملة وآخر جملة الأول عشان تفهم المشكلة إيه بسرعة. وبعدين اقرأ تاني مرة بهدوء عشان تفهم كل التفاصيل.

نصيحة أخيرة

الـ skimming مهارة هتفيدك في حياتك كلها مش بس في الإنجليزي. لما تبدأ تقرأ أي حاجة، سواء إيميل أو مقال أو حتى رسالة واتساب طويلة، بص على الأول والأخير الأول. ده هيوفرلك وقت كتير ويفهمك الموضوع بسرعة.

  • What's the problem? و What's wrong with it? — دول سؤالين مختلفين لنفس الفكرة. What's دي اختصار لـ what is. "What's wrong with it?" بنستخدمها لما نتكلم عن جهاز أو حاجة معينة، يعني "إيه اللي فيه؟".
  • My phone doesn't work و It doesn't turn on — لاحظ هنا بنستخدم doesn't (does not) عشان الفعل مع الفاعل الغائب (he/she/it) في حالة النفي. لو قولت "My phone not work" دي غلط، لازم تقول doesn't.
  • Let's look at it — Let's دي اختصار لـ let us، ومعناها "يلا بينا". بنستخدمها لما نقترح حاجة نعملها مع بعض.

القواعد في سطور

Modal verb (can) بنستخدمه للطلب بأدب:

  • Can you help me, please?

Third person singular negative: مع he/she/it، النفي بيكون بـ doesn't + فعل بدون s:

  • The screen doesn't turn on.

Linking verb (is): لوصف حالة حاجة:

نصايح للنطق

  • doesn't بتتنطق DUHZ-unt، يعني بنسمع صوت الـ t الأخيرة بس خفيف.
  • لما تقول Excuse me خليها واضحة وهادية.
  • بلاش تستعجل، اتكلم ببطء ومتأكد من كل كلمة.

هتسمع الحوار بين توم وإيما الأول، وبعدين هتسجل الجمل بصوتك. في الآخر هتكلم مع الذكاء الاصطناعي وتطبق اللي اتعلمته. متقلقش من الغلط — ركز على الأدب والوضوح.

Strategy: Using polite words

In English emails, "please" and "thank you" are very important. They make your email friendly. Look at the model. The writer uses "please" one time and "thank you" one time. These small words make a big difference. Always add "please" when you ask for something. Always add "thank you" at the end.

After you read the model, answer the questions. Then write your own short email asking for help.

إزاي تكتب إيميل تطلب فيه مساعدة تقنية

في الجزء ده من الدرس، هنتعلم إزاي نكتب إيميل قصير وبسيط بنطلب فيه مساعدة في مشكلة تقنية، زي اللي بنبعته لـ IT support في الشغل أو المدرسة. الإيميل في اللغة الإنجليزية ليه شكل معين لازم تتبعه عشان يبقى واضح ومؤدب.

شكل الإيميل

التحية (Greeting): دايماً نبدأ بكلمة "Hi" وبعدين اسم الشخص اللي بنكلمه، ونحط كوما بعدها. مثلاً: "Hi Alex,"

المقدمة (Introduction): ممكن نقدم نفسنا في أول الإيميل لو الشخص مش عارفنا، زي الجملة: "My name is Tom."

وصف المشكلة (The problem): هنا بنقول إيه المشكلة اللي عندنا. الجملة المهمة هنا هي "I have a problem with..." يعني "عندي مشكلة في...". وبعدها بنضيف تفاصيل بسيطة، زي مثلاً: "It doesn't turn on" (مش بيشتغل) أو "The screen is black" (الشاشة سودا).

سبب طلب المساعدة: كويس تقول للشخص ليه محتاج المساعدة دي. مثلاً: "I have an exam tomorrow" (عندي امتحان بكرة) أو "I need my computer for school" (محتاج الكمبيوتر بتاعي للمدرسة).

طلب المساعدة بشكل مؤدب: هنا بنستخدم جملة مهمة جداً وهي "Can you help me, please?"

الخاتمة (Closing): بنختم الإيميل بـ "Thank you very much" وبعدها اسمك. مثلاً: "Thank you very much. Tom"

في الإيميلات الإنجليزية، كلمتين دول بيعملوا فرق كبير جداً: "please" (لو سمحت) و "thank you" (شكراً). الكلمات الصغيرة دي بتخلي الإيميل بتاعك ودود ومهذب.

زمن المضارع البسيط (Present Simple)

في الإيميل ده بنستخدم زمن المضارع البسيط عشان نوصف مشكلة دلوقتي. شوف الأمثلة دي:

  • "It doesn't turn on" — مش بيشتغل
  • "I have a problem" — عندي مشكلة
  • "I need my computer" — محتاج الكمبيوتر

لاحظ إن النفي بنعمله بإضافة "doesn't" قبل الفعل. مثلاً: "doesn't work" (مش شغال)، "doesn't connect" (مش بيتوصل).

قبل ما تكتب إيميلك، اقرأ الإيميل النموذج بتاع توم كويس، وبعدين حاول تكتب إيميل خاص بيك عن مشكلة حقيقية حصلت معاك. خلي الإيميل قصير ومباشر ومؤدب، وافتكر دايماً تحط please و thank you.
