In class, you often need to ask your teacher or classmates for help. This is normal and important. When you ask for help in English, be polite. Say please when you ask, and say thank you when someone helps you.

Here are useful phrases for asking for help in class:

You can also start a question with Excuse me. This is a polite way to get someone's attention in class. For example: "Excuse me, can you help me?" You will hear these phrases in the next conversation. Listen carefully and try to use them yourself.

طلب المساعدة في الفصل

في الدرس ده هنتعلم إزاي تسأل مدرسك أو زمايلك في الفصل لما تحتاج مساعدة، وده شيء طبيعي جداً بيحصل مع كل الناس. الفكرة الأساسية هنا هي الأدب أو الـ politeness، يعني استخدام كلمات صغيرة بتخلي السؤال بتاعك لطيف ومحترم.

الكلمات السحرية التلاتة

في الإنجليزية في 3 كلمات لازم تحطهم في بال دايماً:

Please (لو سمحت) — بتحطها في نهاية السؤال بتاعك
Thank you (شكراً) — لما حد يساعدك
Excuse me (عفواً) — عشان تلفت انتباه حد بأدب

جمل أساسية هتحتاجها

Can you help me, please? — يعني "ممكن تساعدني؟" ودي أهم جملة في الموقف ده.
Can you repeat that, please? — لما المعلم يتكلم بسرعة ومحتاج تسمع تاني.
What does ___ mean? — لما تشوف كلمة جديدة ومش عارف معناها. لاحظ إن does بنستخدمها مع he/she/it ومع الفاعل المفرد.
How do you spell that? — لما تحب تعرف إزاي الكلمة بتتكتب حرف حرف.
I don't understand. — جملة بسيطة جداً معناها "أنا مش فاهم".
Sorry, I'm confused. — معناها "آسف أنا تايه" ودي أخف في الأسلوب.

القواعد المهمة

الجملة Can you help me, please? فيها الفعل المساعد can اللي بيعني "ممكن/تستطيع"، وبعده الفعل في صورته الأصلية help.
لما تقول What does this mean?، الفعل المساعد does بييجي قبل الفاعل لأنه سؤال.
جملة I don't understand فيها don't وهي اختصار لـ do not، وبتستخدم لنفي الأفعال في المضارع.

مثال عملي من الموقف

لما تكون في الفصل ومسمعش المعلم كويس، ممكن تقول: "Excuse me, Mr. Smith. Can you help me, please?" المعلم هيقولك: "Of course, Emma. What is the problem?" وانت ترد: "I don't understand this word." ولما يفهمك، ماتنساش تقول Thank you very much!. ركز في الحوار اللي جاي وحاول تستخدم الجمل دي بنفسك.

الموقف بسيط: Sara مش فاهمة كلمة قالها المدرس، فقررت تلجأ لصاحبها Ali. الحوار ده مهم جداً لأنه بيعلمك إزاي تتعامل مع المواقف دي بهدوء وبأدب.

الكلمات والعبارات الأساسية

Excuse me: دي أكتر عبارة هتحتاجها لما تبي تلفت انتباه حد أو تفتح كلام مع حد غريب. بالعربي معناها "لو سمحت" أو "عذراً". Sara استخدمتها في أول الجملة عشان تكون مهذبة.
I don't understand: معناها "أنا مش فاهم/ة". لاحظ إن don't هي اختصار لـ do not، وبتتستخدم مع I, you, we, they. مع he و she بنقول doesn't.
What is the word?: سؤال مباشر ومختصر. الترتيب هنا: what (إيه) + is (فعل) + the word (الكلمة).
timetable: كلمة أساسية في حياة أي طالب. معناها جدول الحصص أو الجدول الزمني للفصل. في أمريكا كتير بيقولوا schedule بمعناها.

إزاي تطلب التكرار

لما Sara فهمت المعنى، عايزة تتأكد من النطق. فسألت:

"Can you say it again?" — يعني "ممكن تقولها تاني؟"
Ali ساعدها وقالها الحروف حرف حرف: "T-I-M-E-T-A-B-L-E."

لما تسمع كلمة جديدة ومش عارف تتكتب، اطلب من زميلك يتهجاها حرف حرف كده. دي طريقة ممتازة تحفظ بيها الإملاء.

خلاصة سريعة

في الفصل، لما تقابل كلمة جديدة:

ابدأ بـ Excuse me عشان تكون مؤدب.
قول I don't understand عشان توضّح إنك محتاج مساعدة.

Welcome to the pronunciation section! In English class, you say many important words every day. Some of the most common class words have the long /i:/ sound. You can hear it in please, repeat, teacher, and three.

To make this sound, smile a little. Your lips go out to the sides, like a small smile. Your tongue is high and at the front of your mouth, near your top teeth. Make the sound long, like this: "eeee." Do not stop the air. The sound is the same from start to end. Hold it for about two seconds.

Here are some class words with the long /i:/ sound:

Be careful: the short /ɪ/ sound is different. It is short and quick. Compare sheep /i:/ and ship /ɪ/. In sheep, your mouth is more open and the sound is long. In ship, the sound is short and quick.

الصوت الطويل /i:/ في الإنجليزي

يا صديقي، النهاردة هنتعلم صوت مهم جدًا في اللغة الإنجليزية، وهو الصوت الطويل /i:/. الصوت ده بيسمع في كلمات كتير بنستخدمها في الفصل، زي please (من فضلك)، repeat (أعد)، teacher (معلم)، و three (تلاتة). كل الكلام ده من غير ما تحس.

إزاي بتعمل الصوت ده بفيك؟

تخيل إنك بتبتسم ابتسامة صغيرة جدًا. شفايفك بتمتد شوية على الجنبين، مش زي ما بتضحك، بس خفيفة. في نفس الوقت، لسانك بيعلى لفوق وبيقرب من الأسنان اللي قدام في فمك. سايب الهواء يعدي من بين لسانك وسقف فمك بشكل مستمر لمدة طويلة من غير ما توقف. الصوت بيطلع كده: "إييييي." حافظ على نفس النغمة من أوله لآخره، متغيرش حدته في النص. ده اللي بيسميه الإنجليز الـ long vowel أو الصوت الطويل.

الصوت القصير /ɪ/

خد بالك، فيه صوت تاني قريب جدًا منه وهو /ɪ/، وده الصوت القصير. عشان تفهم الفرق، قارن بين كلمة sheep (خروف) وكلمة ship (سفينة). الـ sheep فيها الصوت الطويل، يعني الفم بيكون مشدود والحبال الصوتية بتشتغل فترة طويلة. الـ ship فيها الصوت القصير، بيروح بسرعة ومبيقعدش. لو قلتلهم ورا بعض هتحس بالفرق.

كلمات الفصل بالصوت الطويل

دلوقتي لما تيجي تقول please لمعلمك، أو تطلب منه repeat الكلام، أو تنادي teacher لما تحتاج مساعدة، أو تقول الرقم three، هتلاقي إن كلهم بيبدأوا بنفس الصوت الطويل ده. تمرن عليه وقوله ببطء في الأول عشان تسمع نفسك كويس، وبعدين زود السرعة شوية عشان يبقي طبيعي في الكلام.

نصيحة عملية

لما تتمرن على الصوت ده، حط إيدك على خدك اليمين والشمال. لو حسيت إن عضلات خدك مشدودة وبتشتغل، يبقى إنت بتعمل الصوت صح. وكمان، لما تبتسم ابتسامة صغيرة، الصوت بيطلع طبيعي أوي. جرّب دلوقتي وسمع الأمثلة اللي تحت وكرر وراها.

استراتيجيتك في القراءة: ابحث عن معلومة محددة بس

في جزء القراءة ده، هنقابل مع بعض رسالة قصيرة من طالب اسمه Mark. Mark عنده مشكلة في الـ timetable بتاعه، فقرر يكتب لمدرسه ويطلب منه مساعدة. بس قبل ما ندخل على الرسالة، خليني أعلمك استراتيجية ذكية هتوفرلك وقت كتير.

إيه معنى "اقرأ عشان تلاقي معلومة معينة"؟

الطريقة دي مفيدة جدًا لما يكون عندك سؤال محدد ومحتاج تجاوب عليه من النص. بدل ما تقرأ كل كلمة وتفهم كل جملة، إنت بتعمل الآتي:

اقرأ السؤال الأول - اعرف إيه اللي بتدور عليه بالظبط
امسح النص بعينيك بسرعة - مر على الكلمات لحد ما تلاقي الجزء المطلوب
ركّز على الجزء اللي فيه الإجابة بس - متشتتش بتفاصيل تانية

ده بيسرّع قراءتك وبيخليك تجاوب صح من أول مرة.

الكلمات الجديدة في سياقها

خد بالك من الكلمات دي لأنها هتظهر في رسالة Mark:

Timetable معناها "جدول الحصص" - الورقة اللي فيها المواد والأوقات بتاعتها
Subject معناها "مادة دراسية"، زي ما تقول "Math is my favorite subject"
Change فعل مهم، يعني "يغيّر" - وهنا Mark عايز يغيّر حاجة في الجدول
Problem معناها "مشكلة"، صعوبة محتاجة حل

نصايح مهمة للطلاب

لما تطلب مساعدة من حد، دايمًا خلي بالك من الحاجات دي:

قول Thank you لما حد يساعدك أو يرد عليك.

Writing strategy: Using capital letters

In English, days of the week (Monday, Tuesday) and subjects (English, Math) always start with a capital letter. This is important. Look at Sara's timetable: all days and subjects begin with a capital letter. "english" is wrong. "English" is correct.

In the next steps, you will check the strategy. Then you will write your own timetable and read it aloud.

يا بطل، جه وقت الكتابة! في الجزء ده إنت هتكتب الـ timetable بتاعك بإيدك، يعني جدول المدرسة الأسبوعي بتاعك، زي اللي عملته سارة بالضبط.

الـ timetable ده شكله زي جدول بسيط: خانات فيها الأيام من جنب، والخانات التانية فيها الأوقات زي 9:00 و 10:00 و 11:00. كل خانة في النص بتحط فيها اسم المادة اللي عندك في اليوم ده والوقت ده.

قاعدة مهمة لازم تفتكرها قبل ما تكتب:

في الإنجليزي، أيام الأسبوع وأسماء المواد كلها لازم تبدأ بـ capital letter، يعني حرف كبير في الأول. القاعدة دي ثابتة ومش بتتغير أبدًا. خليني أوضحلك بمقارنة سريعة:

ليه؟ لأن في الإنجليزي، أي proper noun (اسم خاص زي الأيام والمدن وأسماء الناس) لازم يبدأ بحرف كبير. الأيام والمدراس والمواد كلها proper nouns.

إزاي تكتب الـ timetable بتاعك خطوة بخطوة:

ارسم جدول صغير في الـ notebook بتاعك بخمس أعمدة للـ Monday لحد Friday.
في الصف الأول، اكتب الأيام كلها بحرف كبير.
في العمود الأول على الشمال، اكتب الأوقات 9:00, 10:00, 11:00.
في كل خانة فاضية، اكتب اسم المادة بتاعك، وافتكر دايمًا الـ capital letter في الأول.
قبل ما تخلص، راجع الجدول وتأكد إن كل يوم وكل مادة بدؤوا بحرف كبير.

لما تخلص، خد نفس عميق واقرأ الـ timetable بتاعك بصوت عالي في الخطوة اللي جاية. ركز على النطق السليم واكتب كل حاجة بحرف كبير. إنت هتعمل حاجة جامدة!

Strategy: Using capital letters

In English, days of the week and subjects (class names) always start with a capital letter. For example:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (NOT monday)
English, Math, Science (NOT english)

Capital letters are important. They show the reader: 'this is a special word — a day or a class name.'
