Welcome to Unit 4 Review! This unit was about food, countable and uncountable nouns, and quantifiers. In this review, you practice all of these things again.
Food words: We learned many food words. We can put them in groups: fruit (apple, banana, orange), vegetables (carrot, potato), drinks (water, milk, juice), and other food (rice, bread, egg, chicken). Some food words are countable (apple, egg, orange) — we can count them: one apple, two apples. Other food words are uncountable (rice, water, milk) — we cannot count them. We use them without a number: some rice, some water.
Quantifiers: Quantifiers are small words for amounts. We use some in positive sentences. We use any in negative sentences and questions. We use many with countable nouns (How many apples?). We use much with uncountable nouns (How much milk?). We use a lot of with both. We also learned a few (countable) and a little (uncountable).
Your writing task: Write a shopping list for one week of food. Group the food into 4 categories: fruit, vegetables, drinks, and other food. Use quantifiers to say how much you need.
Using a list: Start each item with a capital letter. Put a bullet point or a number in front of each item. Keep each item short — just a name and a number. Don't use full sentences in a list.
